Cold Steel Help!

The ReconScout is a great outdoor knife. Thick blade and flat grind will split wood real good. Classic blade shape that can do anything you ask from an outdoor/utility knife. Good news for you they have been discontinued and you can find one for under $60 from eBay.

The RECON TANTO is for real .mil OPERATORS only. I once heard that the British SAS waited in trenches for Saddams tanks and opened them up with the RECON TANTO when they passed over them. Serious stuff that RECON TANTO.

The Recon Scout would no doubt be a wholly more appropriate knife for utilitarian uses and camping. The traditional blade style leads to a lot more convenience of use and sharpening than the Americanized tanto-point of its other Recon counterpart. It's a good knife from a controversial company, now available for even cheaper because of the foreign-made SK5 version. That's something I totally disagree with, but it wasn't my call...

Well, I don't actual see what you REALLY want the knife for, other than Outdoors and camping. What kind of tasks are you going to be doing?

Like I sad, I want knive for outdoors and camping.
But I want to say, maybe if had some another manufacter of knives for that kond of job, to recomend.
Thanks for all posts!

I agree with most of the experts here.
The Scout is a very versatile knife, and I personally prefer it to the SRK just because of the size and the weight. Better chopper and splitter. But ultimately is a matter of the size that you feel more comfortable with. The Scout is 7" and the SRK is 6" and almost half the weight of the Scout. Good luck

Totally the SRK. Great sheath, great ergos, ricasso so you can choke up on it, and a total pry-bar of a blade that still cuts and chops well.

Thanks to all of You, but I'm stil in dilemma.
I hop that I would chose the right blade.
Thanks

Stop it already !

It`s obvious you really WANT that Tanto (and it`s a damned good knife), so BUY it.... after using it for awhile and you find out it`s not exactly what you needed, *then* buy the SRK....that`s why we call it "collecting", Dude !
