Cold steel kitchen knife set?

My grandfather is a knife enthusiast and recently gave us a cold steel knife block set....we cook a lot, mostly baking....but does anyone have experience with this....we are looking for a good bread cutting knife and before we open it up and use it we were going to consider finding something s little better suited for us

Also I was kinda surprised the knives were so thin but I guess that's what u get....also some were made in Japan Taiwan and china

Never seen 3 diff countries in one set


Can anyone reccomend a different set, comment on this one, or discuss any custom makers gear towards the kitchen thanks
