Cold steel made a knife, in its country classics series, that I believe had faux jigged bone handle scales, and a single carbon v clip blade. It was a large locking hunter. I am having trouble remembering the name, and what it looked like. My brother is actually looking for something of that type, and the Queen Mountain Man is a little on the pricey side. He wants a user.

If anyone has any suggestions, they'd be appreciated, and if anyone can tell me the name of the cold steel, or direct me to a link where I can see one, or buy one, that'd be nice too. :)

thanks
Pete

I am not familiar with the knife you are speaking about, but if you want a wonderful folding hunter for not a lot of money, cold steel's Ultimate Hunter model 61lps (I believe is the model number) is a great knife. you can get it for 42.00 and change on the net if you look around. Well made, great for skinning and gutting, great grippy handles, and, while not the latest botique steel, the Aus-8 is perfectly serviceable. It is east to sharpen due to the high hollow grind of the blade as well.

I suggested that to him, but he is looking for a traditional design. I read about the cold steel in one of the knife magazines, and it is a discontinued model. Now it seems, I can't find the magazine, and without it, I don't know the model of the knife. :)
