Anyone got this blade? Cant find so many reviews on it.

Thinking for bushcraft and wood carving feather sticks etc.

Can it support say a 15/15 edge?

I've not seen it, but that's a pretty good price for a 3V knife.

I haven't measured but the stock edge is already ground purty thin. The whole knife is really ground well with some aggressive distal taper that just make it a sweet cutter. Plus with 3v you should be able to take it thinner if necessary. As far as bushcraft stuff it'll handle it well. It's an excellent choice for a belt knife. I took a couple pics just for giggles...

It'll notch easy...

Not the best curls on my part but the knife with its continuous curved edge really makes shavings/curls quite easy.

Also the spine is squared up and makes shavings/strikes a ferro extremely easy.

I made some belt loops for the sheath so I could carry it horizontal/crossdraw/scout. The sheath does accept a spyderco g-clip, but I like this a bit better. The sheath retention is really good, no wiggle/rattle and even without the snap, it holds it tight.

Overall the knife is a real winner at an excellent price.

Looks real good maybe im buying myself one in december hehe

Got nearly all my gear stolen on a forest trip so need a good knife :-) kost 1300kr here and with tax its 1550kr but a good knife is worth it

I recently acquired one and I am highly impressed with the design and build. This is my first Cold Steel and I am NOT disappointed! Unfortunately I have not had the opportunity to use this one much but given the size and ergonomics I believe it will excel at the tasks you mentioned. FWIW, the stock edge is below 30 degrees.

It's a dang good knife and will do just fine for finer things. For example last camping trip found out half of my tent stakes were missing and had to make a pile of them. This knife, and a bk9 did all the wood processing, food prep, cut cord, etc the whole trip. We also got rained on all night and morning long and I did not have a spot of rust. Not to mention after being worked fairly hard all weekend all it needed was a couple swipes on the green strop and it was good as new.

One of the best knives ever for field dressing and skinning big game. One of Lynn Thompson's finest designs, IMHO. Noted outdoors writer and big game guide Ross Sefried gave it an outstanding review quite a few years back in Guns & Ammo magazine. Don't know about the new blade steels, but I love mine in Carbon V; takes a fabulous edge, and develops a nice patina in time.

I wanted this but couldn't budge on it because of the handle. It basically melts in my hand and gets goo everywhere.

Ended up getting the Bushcrafter from Bm but if you don't mind the handle, get it especially for that price.

Okey just to bad cold steel dont say anything about the hardness or heat treat. Im suspecting its pretty soft for toughness and the steel isnt at its full potential would like it at say 61 ?

They don't need to have 3V really at all low in order to get already outstanding toughness. I wouldn't be surprised at all if CS had it at about 60-61rc, but I don't know what they actually went with.

Its that why cant they just tell us... Would like to know who heat treats them as well because arent 3v hard to heat treat?

Maybe im overthinking it?

The new steels cold steel are running they have been stating 60-61 rc, even for their 3v which is about optimal. It should say on their website description. I also would not worry about the handle coming loose, complaints of that were older model kraton handled choppers like the trailmaster. I have not heard or seen anything about the new master hunters coming loose.

Update, checked Cs webpage, no rc hardness on there. I could have sworn it was on there before I picked mine up. I'll try to remember where I found it.
