Was just given a small push dagger with a serrated edge and plastic sheath. I had one years ago and was happy to get it. Now I am concerned if it is legal. It does not have a double edge. Might make a good ferro rod striker. Anyone mess with one of these? I put it on my keychain.

Legality would depend on the state you are in and the discretion of the officer that questions you about it.

In the woods you're probably okay. In a night club or at a concert/sporting event you might be in trouble.

Use your best discretion and keep in mind, most would consider it an offensive weapon depending on the situation.

I have a Cold Steel Urban Pal which I sometimes keep on my keychain.

It is a very small knife, although it is a serrated push dagger. It is quite useful for small cutting tasks and other mundane daily tasks, although it doesn't see quite as much use as you'd imagine since it gets rotated with a Leatherman Micra, Buck Hartsook, and Spyderco Ladybug3 on my keys, and has to battle with my Vic and other EDCs in my pockets.

:D

Legality probably depends, but with the use of practical thought and good common sense most major problems can be avoided.

If you're in CA, you can't carry it concealed because it's a fixed blade. I believe that open carry would be OK in most areas of CA (other than government buildings, schools, etc.).
