Is an "american tomahawk" with the new state of the art handles and blade worth the cost of two or three standard "vietnam tomahawks?"
I figured that no, it wasn't But I just changed my mind after ordering a pair of the green tomahawks made by cold steel. My girlfriend likes bladed weapons so I gave her one and went to the backyard with mine to check it out. No throwing! I wacked some lightweight moulding boards that were on the ground, hit the fence with it a few times just to feel how much power it took to penetrate a soft target. I swear, I did not throw it. So now the damn thing has a chip, the lower corner of the blade just broke off and I am wondering why the heck Cold Steel would sell such a p.o.s. with a recommended retail of $60. I just read something yesterday from their ceo going on and on about how they are such a great product and everything, yet for $40 they sell a hatchet with a blade that breaks when it touches pine wood. I can get a german made crash axe for 20 bucks from the local harbor freight tool shop and file that thing down however I want to think I just might do that now. . .
