cold steel? more like chipped steel on the 'nam reissue

Cold steel had some QC issues this year (it has been slowing us down getting our Handpicked Heads - but it has only been cosmetic in nature as far as i can tell). Cold Steel has always backed its products marvelously as far as i can tell.

we are heading towards making our own heads because of this QC delay (which i did not want to do - i just wanna make better handles for good heads), but i will always trust Cold Steel as much as anyone.

they are just growing - try to be patient with them.

i know, it's a pain.

and can we see some pictures of the damage please, brother...?

already been said, they should replace it with no problem. I have been throwing my rifleman's hawk for 8 years, with constant bad hits, hitting other blades, rocks, etc with no breakage of the blade (although will break handles occasionally). just send it back and get another one.

One thing about the model you have, it has a much thinner lighter handle, and the attachment is not as strong as with the rest of their hawks. It is designed to be light and fast, at the expense of a bit of strength in the eye/head joint. The slip joint handles on the rest of their hawks are much thicker at the head/handle joint, and will be sturdier for every day use, and for throwing. Just take out the set screw before throwing, or you greatly increase the likely hood of a split handle on a bad throw.

Brother fatty is so right on this issue!!!
I learned the hard way, did not know the set screw was tightened from the factory...

Tighten the set screw if you just want to chop with it...

Brother fatty...

Did you make those knives???

Those are VERY nice, brother!!!

They are Busse Combat knives.
