I just got a bush ranger, and on the back of the box is a lifetime warranty! Not that 5 year junk. The weird thing was that on the box of a Vaquero Large, they had Life time warranty printed in bold letters, and under it the one-year warranty was stated. Of course there is no address printed anywhere on either box, so you have to search a bit to find out where to send a defective knife.

Hi, I don't care what the box says, when you really have a problem and talk to the company who made the product it should be resolved. For example, Victorinox (SAK) gives 5 years of garantuee on it's knives but I have had knives repaired and even replaced that were 10+ years old without any costs hatsoever. I just complained to Cold Steel about a my completely eatenaway hybrid leather with thin glued cordura skin sheath, from my SRK knife (about 4 years old). The SRK performes beautifully but the sheath just disintegrated while visiting the Amazones. They offered me a replacement for $22.50 (kydex one) and $22.81 postage !! I replied saying I would send them the SRK for keeps as I could get myself a new one with kydex sheath from Discount knives for $50 + $3 postage but I would be getting me a NON CS knife with a better garantuee. I received an email telling me that Lynn Thompson would be sending me a replacement sheath.
That's service in my view, even though it needed a second email.
My experience, good service and garantuee are very important should something fail.

Hey,
That's good to hear. Cold Steel makes some great production blades, and sometimes is unfairly criticised. Sure some of their stuff is goofy; for example: "throwing spikes" which they call "Torpedoes". Or a small shovel that can be thrown! But in all fairness Carbon V is a very good steel, and they make some reasonably priced and very high quality knives. Hard to beat a SRK, for example.

Hi General, I send them a fax the number is 805-642-9727 . If you tell them you prefer an answer by email they'll send you one and then you got an emailaddress. I think they don't want to get bombarded by emails so they don't provide an email address.
Good luck, Nimrod
