Anyone used one of these? Soliciting your comments, good, bad, indifferent.

Thanks

I've looked at these a lot too. I'm interested in what owners have to say about them.

i handled one a few months ago, it seemed very solid and held up to its reputation of a "folding fixed blade". the lock really is very solid feeling. the handle, though relatively flat, is wide enough to give a pretty good grip.

haven't used one, but if it were my style i wouldn't hesitate to pick one up.

I handled one at a knife shop. Very ergonomic grip, the lock up was superb (although we all know it is a bit unconventional). Most posters here have said that they can't use the thumbstuds on this knife because it's so tight. However, the one I handled opened smoothly, maybe that's just because I may have been the 1,000,000th handler of that knife. I'll be picking one up for my PSK: it'll fit in easily, becomes a virtual fixed blade, is a great design, and is cheap as well.

From what I have read they area really good buy, very sturdy and able to take plenty of abuse. Just watch your fingers when closing it !

I have one but haven't used it yet. It locks up solid, sharp as hell. Closing it takes your full attention.

Youve heard the phrase locks like a bank vault, thats how I feel about this knife when it locks in place you can hear and feel it. Mine has NO blade play in any direction. It's big, sharp, strong and inexpensive what more could you want.

It's a nice knife, but it's defitately a 2 hand open and closer, with a 9000 # spring. CS Twistmasters had the same fault, very difficult to open and close. SC told me that was done on purpose to protect them against lawsuits.

Just got mine but haven't used it a whole lot yet.Big,solid & well built. For the price I think it's hard to go wrong.

I handled one as well in a store and was quite impressed.
It seemed solid and well built and was a original design which is quite rare for Cold Steal.
It reminded me of the old style folding bowies. There are a few other similar knives like the benchmade LFK but I think the CS has them beat on price by a long ways.

Also the 2 hand opening is nice if you live somewhere lame.
It would still make a hell of a weapon, I think one hand opening is nice but not quite as important as you would expect.

I got one a few weeks ago and I love it. It makes a great beater knife. Its not some super steel that'll stay sharp for a long time, but its easy enough to resharpen. I've gotten use to opening it one hand (don't know if its because its been broken in or my thumb has just gotten stronger). I really like the lock concept and wished that CS made a smaller version (maybe 2.5"-3" blade for EDC).

Sometimes when I open it one handed the spring that forces the locking bar up doesn't go all the way. The first time that happened I though I got a bad one with loads of blade play. But if you get the blade to snap out with decent force, the lockup is solid.

An excellent "beat it the hell up" knife. I have one in the survival pouch on my bushman sheath and it does great for all of the smaller hard-use tasks that are difficult with a larger blade. I've even batoned with it on several occasions, including using it like a chisel for woodworking. Dulls quickly, but freshens up even quicker.

I got one, i abuse the hell out of it (and i'm NOT one to abuse my tools).

Pros:

- its a fixed blade when its locked open, nuff said.
- sharp as frigging heck, out of the box, even scarier when honed on a strop.
- tough as can be, put it away wet and it comes back for more
- bang for the bucks!
cons

slippery handle
- you need to be alert and pay FULL ATTENTION when closing
- not a good choice for kids.

i give it a 9/10

i will second ZIPHEAD and wish for a smaller one for the pocket or PSK

this is a blade you buy a few of and leave in your truck glovebox, toolbox, woodshed, barn etc etc etc, good loaners for non knife collectors (after showing them how to open and close)

I have handled one. Difficult to operate the lock. A refreshing change for CS, a good ergo tough design of their own. The lock really needs lightening up.

Looks a little Douk-douk-ish to me.
I never thought this would happen but i've actually bought a bunch of Cold Steel stuff lately!
A Trailhawk, a couple of CS Machetes, two throwing knives and lastly a Black Rock Hunter.
Other than a slightly off-kilter grind on the BRH i like them all.
And the BRH is actually a solid interesting knife as well.
I'll probably end up buying one of these Pocket Bushmans and a regular fixed blade Bushman too.

Dang who-da thunk it?
lol!

Honestly, at such a low cost it's kind of a fun "just for the hell of it" knife. Much like its larger brother it's high performance for the price.
