When I first got the axe I cut it down and mounted it.

Didn't really like it so I took it apart, stripped the coating off the head, cut off the extension stained and sealed the handle. Much better :)

Weight 4lbs 1oz
Overall length 44"

I just finished reworking little brother (the CS war hammer). Stained the handle and stripped the black coating off the head.

Show me the place where people are licenced to hide a baseball bat, under a trenchcoat, and doesn't have dirt roads. I'll be movin there.

What's wrong with dirt roads

We have plenty of that there black stuff covering our roads......LOL

You also don't need a trenchcoat because we're an open carry state ;)

Good ole Special Products is unloading CS Pole Axes for $29.99 (+$9.00 s&h) at the Cold SteelStore. No, I don't need one but lookin' at all the fun you guys are having modding these toys I gotta try one.

For what it is worth....
I did a bit of research on the subject and found that I was not breaking any laws with my "cane". For one, I use it openly and it is not concealed.

here is mine. Actually dis some throwing with it (reverse hold, and only 1/4 spin at about 10', I need a much taller target to do more).

Looks much more "medieval" -- I like it.

FWIW, in FL you could carry them concealed with a CWL -- we have a concealed weapons license, not a concealed handgun license.

You can also, barring local ordnance, carry any sized knife openly. I know of no FL laws against carrying axes or hammers, although I bet just about every cop who saw you would want to talk to you about it.

I can't think of any laws in VT that would preclude you from carrying something like this around...

You would certainly attract some attention, though.

Actually after using it almost daily for three years, I've found that very few people even notice it with the sheath on. On an evening walk with your hand on the head and being used as a cane, no one would notice.

In my state, if you have a CCW, you are allowed to carry a knife also. I have asked several LEOs, and none can give me an answer on the type of knife. Sooooo..... to each his own.
