Cold Steel Recon 1 folder-good or bad?

I'm thinking of getting one but I'd like to get some views on edge retention and such first. Thanks in advance!

a co-worker of mine bought one, awhile back.

he couldn't be happier with his. says it takes an edge pretty easily and retains it well under hard use. he said he's totally confident in the lock, alot of other folders make him nervous, but not this one.

he's had the knife for a couple years now. he said he'd recommend it to anyone considering it.

I have one of the zytel ones. I bought it in 2001 and one of the lock
springs broke in 2006 after it being my edc for that time. Pulled one out of my AK-47 and it works like a champ now.

Good knife overall, holds a good edge, but the zytel is a little slick. The new
ones with the g-10 look pretty good but I wouldn't pay over maybe $45.
You can get a Kershaw Lahar for about $50 but if you want a BIG folder
for low cost you can't go wrong....
