Love both knives but which one is tougher.......my vote is on recon1.......all opinions are welcome...........I mean tougher overall not just edge retention..I know s30v outperforms aus8..lol in pure cutting

This is easy. The winner is CS because you can actually buy one.

Why does it matter? Both are tough enough and if you use them as intended neither will ever break. These threads never go well...

LoL I Have recon 1 and will probably buy chinook1 if I can ever find it..........chinook2 and 3 are good but Would buy 1 and completely convex saber grind down to zero!!!!!!!I was just wondering which one was tougher...........maybe some forum members have tested both etc.....

Oh god, not another one . . .

it's been a while since i've handled a chinook but if i remember right i don't think the blade shape and FFG would be to conducive to something like, oh i don't know, using a the knife as a pry bar? (looks great for skinning or something though). If you're using them both as knives i'm sure neither is going to break very easily. who really cares though? they're not very similar knives really . .

My thoughts exactly. This spawned from the Spyderco subforum.

What the hell is up with these types of threads showing up every couple of days? It's like clockwork now.

Which is a better color; red or blue?

Subjectivity in what is deemed "tough", will it make it tough for objectivity to prevail.

Oh and by the way blue is a better color because this planet has more natural blue color due to the vast oceans. However, red is a faster color than blue.

Definitely, I agree, red is WAY faster than blue...

I love the blue....:D

I think we're all in agreement, Blue holds and edge Much longer than red, But red is WAY stronger:D

none of you know a thing. orange knives perform better in all categorys because they're actually designed for people that do work with their knives. though i guess black knives are quieter.

My vote is for blue too; whaddie win?

Black? Pppft, passe my good man, passe...

So I guess you have a thread that compares two very different knives asking about a difference you'll never see in real use so you can not use that information for something useful?

Which knife is more susceptible to magnetization, an ESEE Junglas or a Case Stockman?

I use my Case Mini Copperhead for jungle duties and my Junglas for shaving my grandmothers mustache.
