I dont think it is s%#&t. It did better than my tenacious, rat and cryo steels that I tried. But this kicker is that it got sharper than most steels ive owned. I beat the heck out of the blade and it would not get damaged. Yes it would dull but I could cut metal ties, and smack it against rocks when cutting landscaping fabric and rubber without more than a little deforming.
 
In New York City the only knife I can legally carry is a non locking knife with no bigger than a 4 inch blade. I don't really edc knives like this but I would sure like to. I use them for work and camping. No one really says anything.

I picked up a Recon 1 on a whim.

I was really surprised how much I ended up liking this knife.

The fit and finish are excellent. It feels really good in the hand. Very well balanced.

It is a bigger knife, like a Spyderco Endura. If you like smaller knives, maybe a Mini-Recon?
