Cold Steel Recon Scout vs. SOG Seal Team Elite

Of the two you mentioned I would choose the team elite since it feels better to me and I have a bit of experience with it. I used my team elite as a hiking knife and did some chopping, batoning, slicing and even some throwing. It was very durable and held an dge well. I like the extended tang and the spine rasps.
The cold steel will suit your needs well also but I just cant say yea or nea because I have never used one. Get the one that feels best.

remember the recon scout is going to be heavier and bulkier. both of these can really have an affect on your swimming capability, also cold steel uses a steel thats basically 1095 on their recon scouts. when exposed to water for lond amounts of time these things will rust like a bitch. trust me i live on the beach. for overall fighting/utility in your conditions i would take the sog seal team(or better yet the sog seal team elite), that said the recon scout remains on of my favorite woodworking blades.

good luck with the seals. im hoping to become a force recon marine in a few years, just joined a gym and started firearms training. it all helps

Most of the guys in my stick in jump school were SEALs - back in 1982. Quite an impressive bunch, and a lot of fun in the barracks.

I have a RS in Carbon V, and it's a great knife. Let me know when you've graduated from SEAL school (with proof, of course) :D, and it's yours.
