cold steel recon1 factory edge...WOW!!!

I totally agree. Sometimes I wonder if part of the appeal of super hard super steels is for collectors, rather than those using the knives a lot each day. I'm not knocking that at all. But give me a blade that is easy to sharpen and has reasonable edge holding rather than super edge holding any day.

Everything is easy to sharpen with diamonds.

Super edge holding and easy to sharpen!

Win freaking win. Reprofiled my Gayle Bradley in CPM M4 in a couple minutes. Stropped it on diamond laden leather and it's a freaking slicing machine.

My last AUS8 blade was a CRKT. Never stayed sharp. If I nicked the cardboard cutting the tape on a box it would be dull.

My S110v Manix stays insanely sharp even while I use it to cut up fish. A couple minutes on diamonds at 15 DPS and it's still a light Saber even after getting beat on

While I agree super steels can be sharpened quickly with the diamonds aus8a shouldn't go from razor sharp to dull from a single slice of cardboard. If so there is a problem with that knife, cold steel aus8a does not go from razor to dull on cardboard in one swipe. Aus8a can be sharpened quickly on far more simple and available stones and materials. While aus8a will loose its hair popping edge fairly quick the working edge last for a good while after and is still able to do everything but shaving your hair and cleanly slicing paper.
Everything is easy to sharpen with diamonds.
