I'm thinking of getting a CS Safekeeper III to go on my PFD (lifejacket) for canoeing and kayaking. I like the idea of the compact design and virtually undropable therefore unloseable grip. Anyone had much experience with this knife? How corrosion resistant is the blade? Being AUS-8 I would think it would be fine. My main concern is with the Kraton handle. I've seen them get soft and tacky after a while. How does it hold up in salt water, sunlight, or under general use? Also, how secure is the knife in the sheath? I plan to carry it inverted.

Thanks.

JDS,
Kraton in my experience gets harder with time instead of softer and tackier which is usually the way they are when they are new.
I have a couple CS pushknives and think they hold up fairly well in wet conditions, but don't know about contact with a variety of unsual chemicals or overexposure to elements(daggers are illegal to carry in my state, so mine don't get much use outside). I have had 3 other kraton handled knives develop a rattle(loose interface with tang) just by sitting around unused at room temp.

They're not very secure in the sheath , in my experience.
