I have read a number of posts here and elsewhere about buying Cold Steel seconds, and what good deals they are. Only problem is, I can't find where they are being sold. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Whitebear, you can get CS products discounted below the Seconds if you look around. Bullman cutlery and ABC are excellent sources. If you can get a hold of Discount knives, he sells them at good prices also. and they are perfect in every way.

Whitebear,
If you call Cold Steel directly, they can tell you what they have as seconds. They don't "make" seconds, they just happen, therefore, there might only be seconds of certain models. I had an old catalog from them explaining the whole story behind the "seconds", and they required you to call if you really, really wanted one.

I agree with Cobalt, however, that you can find the production level knives at lower than the "seconds" price. Good Luck!

I just received the new CS catalog and they offer seconds in it. I can email or fax the page to ya if you would like. You can request a catalog at their webpage also. Let me know.

Thanks for the quick responses!

By the way, Blades, I received your e-mail, but haven't yet figured out how to open the attachment. I don't recognize the file extension.

The latest Cold Steel Special Projects catalog has a page dedicated to seconds. I own an SRK second and darned if I can find the flaw!

So much to learn, so little time.

I wasn't sure if that would work or not. It is a free fax service that sends your faxes to your email address. I faxed it from work to my email account and then tried to forward it to you. Oh well. I can still just fax it to ya. Email me a fax number and I'll send it out tomorrow.

Blades -

I FINALLY got my CS catalog today. I think it's been about 2 months since I ordered it. Anyhow, I now have the info on seconds. Thanks for your efforts.

About three months ago I bought a CS Recon Scout second and then spent several days trying to find the "flaw." It turned out to be a very minor uneveness in the coating near the base of the blade.

In practical work, this admittedly heavy knife has outperformed every task and -- out of the box -- its the sharpest production blade I've ever seen.

As others have said, CS offers a SPECIAL PRODUCTS catalog with normally includes a page of seconds. Glad to hear about some of the other outlets for first-run blades.

I just received my CS Spring 99 Special Projects. It was mailed on April 2. Could somebody in California please call Cold Steel at 805-658-0180 (Customer Service) and ask how much will they charge for an USPS delivery to the Philippines. I 'm interested in their factory second Peace Keeper, SRK or Master Hunter.

CS doesn't seem to have any email address, and calling them international long distance is expensive.

My email is ciidvo@mozcom.com

Thanks for any help!

Titan,
I just happen to live in Camarillo, only a few miles from Cold Steel, and would be more than happy to give them a call , and get that info for you. I will email with the prices tomorrow.

Lance

Thanks in advance, Lance!

To all Seconds hunters: I just ordered two Master Hunter 2nds from the CS sale flyer. They were priced $10 below the regular 2nd price because they supposedly had "some minor rust spots from storage". Well, if they are there they are not just minor they are microscopic because I sure couldn't find them! Guys these Carbon V knives are a screaming steal at $24.95!

How I envy you guys back there, as we int'l people don't have the slightest chance of being able to acquire those good deals from cold steel..

Lance -- yep, I received your email. Thanks, again!

As I said in my response, maybe you can tell them to have their own forum here?
