Cold Steel seems still to have problems keeping in stock !

About a month ago, I backordered a CPM 3V Master Hunter from MidwayUSA .

Great deal , assuming it ever arrives , at $99 +tax , delivered . :cool::thumbsup:

Their price is now back up to nearly $160 , which seems to be the same everywhere . :(

Also seems to be out stock everywhere , overdue . :mad::thumbsdown:

The 3V MH is made in Italy , last I knew .

I've recommended this knife several times , but now wonder if I should do so for Cold Steel products , unless I know they are in stock .

I thought the New CS was supposedly gonna be able to correct some of these supply problems ? :rolleyes:

Maybe this is somehow Covid related and is an industry wide problem ? :confused:
 
Unless you cancel your original order, it should remain at the price you were charged regardless of any future increases.

As for the stocking of inventory who knows what factors are at play! An entire factory could be sitting idle due to Covid or steel not being shipped or smelted, etc, etc. Even in pre-Covid times it was not unheard of to wait several years for a model to actually become available to waiting customers.
 
I agree that COVID is playing havoc with supply chains, and not just in the knife industry. I think we'll have to give GSM some time to improve inventory.

Don't cancel that order, JD! Midway is excellent about honoring original prices on back orders.

What is odd to me is the new products cold steel has in stock, I have not seen anywhere at any
of the retailers. That retailer says the new voyagers are coming soon.
 
MidwayUSA has always been very reliable for me . :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I'm pretty sure they will honor the price and send it ASAP , once they get it back in stock .

I don't actually need it . Have plenty already similar and even a MH "Plus" San Mai (with gut hook ) . :p

But , once I ordered it , I really got the itch to get hands on . Just have to be patient . ;)
 
Midway has been very good and I expect that they’ll honor that price if they do get the MH in. I just ordered a couple CS Brooklyn bats from them last night that are already shipped.

Another side note, midway has the new mini recon 1’s on the site for a great price but are not in stock yet.
 
don't know but I assume its the run on products since the cold steel company been sold, and covid mess.
 
I wonder how long it will take them to get ALL the 3v products out. Like to see the Kukri plus in action with some hard use.
 
I've said it before and I'll say it again. The price of bringing in a shipping container to Canada, and probably the US as well, went from $5 000 USD, to $18 000. The price of everything is going to skyrocket. Knives are a luxury item, and they can justify raising their prices, but a LOT of companies are probably getting government subsidies to keep the costs of food, and necessities down, so you might not notice as much as you will with luxury items.
 
Just got a quote a couple weeks ago for a shipping container from Italy to TX and it was EUR4450, which is $5340.
 
At the risk of giving offense or going off topic....

Prices are starting to skyrocket for everything, and it's probably going to get a lot worse. Our government is actively trying to wreck American businesses and industries, while flooding the economy with trillions of fresh printed cash. Steel (all metals actually), fuel, lumber, housing, new and used vehicles, food...all are heading to the moon. The only proposed solution from the great reset folks is more free money and more regulations to hurt domestic businesses. Get ready now, it's gonna get bad my friends.

I'd have lot's to say ...but this is political and would be locked for sure . :(
 
I've had another SRK in 3V on order from a CS distributor since July 10, 2020. The last shipping update from the distributor was 1/31/2021. CS website says "Product Coming Soon".
