Cold Steel seems still to have problems keeping in stock !

that place has some crazy good deals and not through 3rd partiers either, pop up if ya catch them. same with the biggest box store, and not having to deal with 3rd parties either. also midway.

grabbed a second bush ranger s35vn g10 one today for under 100 bucks. couldn't pass it up, too good of a knife and deal to pass it up.

saw 2 other great deals on there but don't need more than one of those so passed on them, but cheapest I've seen in a long time.

Yeah , it really pays to look around and be prepared to buy it right then , when the right deal offers .:thumbsup::thumbsup:

There have been several I delayed , wanted to think about . Came back the next day or even hours later ...gone , gone forever . :(

Of course , if really you don't actually want it / need it , then there's no point to buy . No matter how good a deal . I have trouble with this concept , however !;)

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The price of bringing in a shipping container to Canada, and probably the US as well, went from $5 000 USD, to $18 000. The price of everything is going to skyrocket. Knives are a luxury item, and they can justify raising their prices, but a LOT of companies are probably getting government subsidies to keep the costs of food, and necessities down, so you might not notice as much as you will with luxury items.

I just ordered a Kyoto 2 and a double edged Mini Leatherneck from a store in Ontario. Kind of paying through the nose at $39.99 each, but whatever. I'm curious about them. I've spent more on booze and dope in one night, back in the day.

Hopefully the vaccines get the supply chain un-tangled ASAP, and prices might deflate. Looks to be going reasonably well on that front, but that's a whole other ball of wax.

If we're really, really lucky, we'll be back to something that looks vaguely like normal sooner rather than later. For now, I can't say I blame CS for having stock problems, they changed hands twice, lost most of their manufacturing contracts as far as I can tell, and the supply chain is only just now beginning to resemble a chain more than it does a snake-pit.

:) Please let us know what you think of them , after some use .:thumbsup:

I was kinda tempted to order the Kyoto 2 , ~$25 USD on Prime , but unsure about the steel /HT quality .

I'll try to do something in that light, but I'm sure not a knife reviewer. I'm going to see if I can talk the warden into taking the Kyoto with her in her purse, when she takes her car out of town to see a girlfriend. I got her to take an SRK compact the last time and she didn't care for the bulk in her purse, but she seemed ok with the basic concept. I am curious about the hand and pocket feel of the mini leatherneck for myself. Some of those impressions I can pass on. I understand your concerns about the steel. But my use intentions, or lack of them, wouldn't put much demand on it

I've been trying to get my wife to carry some means of SD / emergency protection for 40+ years .

She could take her choice of anything in my arsenal . I've had very little success in this endeavor . :(

Folders are too hard to open or close . Too big or scary , or not enough . Fixed blade with sheath , too long , even my Pendleton Mini Hunter = ~7.25 " OAL in sheath . o_O

She finally did actually ASK me for my Tiger Claw , folding karambit ! Was shocked and awed . I don't know what she ever actual did with it .>

I agree that for light use / SD on a small fixed like the Kyoto , the steel/ HT is not very critical .

Ya I hear you. This will be the final test to see if she will bring something. Cell phones etc. are fine but if she gets a flat and a creep sees that.............
