Cold Steel Tantos

People seem to not like the San Mai steel, but in my original Master Tanto(brass fittings) I've beat the shit out of that knife and it keeps coming back for more. Used it as an axe(an axe chops better due to more weight and distribution of weight), stabbed it through a hard-wood desk, hacked apart some shitty furniture when I was moving, and the only damage is a slight cip on the edge from the steel springs in some of the crappy furniture.

Can't speak for their newer stuff, but the one I've got is damn tough. Can't see how you could find much tougher(cheaper: sure, tougher: no).

And yes, the owner is a jerk, but I didn't buy Lynn, and actually I didn't even buy the knife; it was passed down to me by my dad when I reached 1st dan. So fond feelings for the knife(just not the owner of CS).

I heard the 2006 and older models of the san mai 3 tantos only have aus8a steel core.If thats true the edge won't hold up good at all it's only aus8a!!!!!!
