Cold Steel thumb plate loose/rattle?

As mentioned above I just sent the exchange route and got the new one today (easy peasy though Midway). Likely was an easy fix but didn't want to end up making a bigger problem, had it loosened over time I'd likely just have dealt with it myself first.

Anyways the replacement one is solid and good to go.

Midway is usually good , so immediate problem should be solved soon . :)

I've got a ton of these type wave openers and they've all been solid from the start and stayed tight even with hard use .

I have read of damage due to baton , but I don't do this .
Good to hear this as it was going to be my next question as to durability of the thumb plate fastening...

Thank you all!

I think it's about as strong as can reasonably be expected from the tiny screw holding it in place .

I've used these vigorously for wave opening with zero problems . Just don't baton right directly onto them ! ;)

Good info. I assume/hope as part of the build process they put on some Loctite before securing that screw/plate - if at any time down the road it gets loose that'll likely be my first effort to re-secure it barring some obvious mechanical failure, stripping of threading, etc. and even then Loctite (whatever appropriate strength) I assume could resolve most scenarios. I have zero plans of intentionally batoning my folder, though the Triad lock likely could take it to some degree.
