If you had to choose between the Spyderco Military and the Kershaw skyline as your only knife, which would you choose? Why?
Well these are VERY different knives, different sizes, purposes, locks. even opening mechanism. I have both, the military is much larger, people make a good point that it carries well for its size (flat sides and it's not too thick) but it's still too big for me to EDC, the sheeple would go batty if I pulled that out. Get it if you have lots of slicing to do and the sheeple/police in your neck of the woods aren't going to hassle you and you like the larger size. The Skyline is MUCH smaller, I EDC'd it for several months but don't very much anymore, I like the lines of it the design is cool but I feel like the blade is too light to be able to work very reliably as a flipper. It's a good choice for a smaller EDC if you like flippers and liner locks and it's way cheaper.
A more comparable group maybe would be the Military and either Kershaw's larger JYD (a flipper like the Skyline, works great)) or Spyderco's Endura. These are in a similar size range overall. JYD has a much wider blade. All 3 are quality, can't go wrong with any, it comes down to what fits your hand better and what you like.
And someone is bound to say it so it may as well be me---you can always get all 3!
