cold steel vs. kabar (fixed blades)

I'm gonna state up front that I love Ka-bar knives.That being said I also love my Cold Steel knives.I have 9 Ka-bar brand knives and 2 Cold Steel knives.the thing I have found with my sarbonsteel blades is the steels.On my SRK it has a very solid sound (when you tap it with your fingers there is no vibration or pinging).when I tap my Master hunter it has a more hollow sound.Maybe it's because one of the blades is coated I don't know.My Ka-bar warthog does the same thing.when I tap it it has the hollow sounding steel in the blade.by compairson my u.s.m.c. Ka-bar doesn't.maybe both companies use different steels in their knives besides 1095 and carbonV.
Thees knives all work flawlessly.I have used all of them and had no problems with any of them.This is just an observation about the difference in the same steels used by both companies.
