Cold Steel's Atlas Lock Test featuring the new Engage 3.5"

that's a first. he actually beat up a mailbox.....

is this lock the strongest though? thought tri-ad held that much in one of their past videos..maybe my memory is wrong though and I dont feel like lookin.

thats only 600...maybe this new lock did set a new cold steel test record.

edit part..nope the atlas lock aint the strongest tested. well ya made me look 720lbs plus the spindle also... sr1 lite.....

not on video but per cold steels site......

"has been tested to hold up to 800 pounds of hanging weights."

looks like tri-ad still the strongest so far until they do the atlas at 800lbs.....

Video may be a little cringe but at least its somewhat a step in a better direction. If only they'd ditch the 4034 steel and upgrade the remaining AUS-8 blades to AUS 10, specifically Tuff Lite or Finnwolf.

IMO the tuff lite is one of the BEST edc all rounders, Im not sure why they don't have a s35vn version. Then again, one of the best things about it is how affordable it is.

True, it was only 600 lbs! But did you see it hanging the entire time Andrew Demko was discussing the Triad lock and pointing out features on the diagram?

There's another video some where where Lynn Thompsom hangs a bunch of weight from a Triad lock knife and sets a timer then leaves it for the weekend. He was at a knife show or some event and the knife was on display in a booth for all to see.

kinda wonder why cs didn't test the atlas over the 800lbs, that the tri-ad will do. they are calling the atlas lock the strongest lock in that video said by the stick guy.

not that it matters really, but im left wondering if it can do the 800lbs?...but 720 is plenty and then some regardless.

Seeing the pivot take that load means they have the hardware for Tri-Ad to take the same load, it's just a matter of building up the handle around the stop pin to prevent it from tearing out.
Overall very impressive, I look forward to buying some Atlas Lock knives.

I do feel like the Tri-Ad still has advantages in maintenance, the lock notch is easy to clean and should perform a lot better in sand and mud.
