Cold Steels New 2010 Voyager Series

I don't know how anyone couldn't like the new model Voyager. They just seem that much better to me with the new blade design and handle ergo's. I can't wait to tell the truth till they are out. A 4 and 5" are gonna be riding in my pocket for sure. keepem sharp and thanks

At least they're VG-1 like my large voyager, and not that horrible AUS 8A like my small one!

Thanks for sharing the vid. I was pretty sure I would try to get one when they came out, but now I definetly will :)

So these Voyagers are made in Japan ? Since they use Takefu steel I would assume so. It might be a decent quality piece .

At first I didn't like the new handles but I'm still looking forward to handling one. I have an American Lawman, my first CS knife, and I really, really like this knife. The only thing I'd change would be to have the blade flat ground instead of saber. The Tri-Ad lock is solid. The Voyager clip point appears to be flat ground, coupled with the Tri-Ad lock.... I think they'll be a big seller for CS.

FFG Distal taper!
These guys just got a whole lot of respect in my book.

As far as I can tell they upgraded every aspect of the Voyager line.
All they need to do now is make a G-10 ZDP-189 version and the 5.5" Voyager is game for best knife ever.

I liked the original Voyagers, and I'll probably get a 3" and 4" when the new ones come out. Flat ground blades and tri ad locks are great improvements. I hope the price doesn't rise too much.

This is a landmark point in Cold Steel history. Having owned and used my fair share of CS folders, I can honestly say that I have never been more excited for any of their folders. Ever!
Reasons:
1. Full flat grind VG-1 blades!!!
2. Tri-AD lock, which I've experienced on the American Lawman. This lock is simple, robust and STRONG. I've seen their Ultra-Lock develop blade play over the years, and traditional lockbacks aren't as confidence inspiring. This one, though, is frikkin' phenomenal in all aspects.
3. Better strength to weight ratio with skeletonized aluminum liners. While I appreciate previous CS strength claims bolstered by full steel liners on some of their folders, the sheer weight of the knife gets to be a hindrance to the point where I end up not carrying or using the knife. What good is an immensely strong knife if you're not going to carry it? This line of voyagers should find a nice balance.

I can't even tell you how much I am looking forward to getting my hands on one of those 4" clip points!!!
