another is walking a fine line to looking like part of the Emerson CQCx series....

That's a big stretch. This one has...

- Dual ground blade
- Thumb stud that recesses into the handle
- Bump on top of the bolster
- symmetrical butt
- No thumb ramp on top of tang
- Stud vs disk opener

What more could they do to make a folding tanto not look like Emersons short of integrating a kazoo into the handle?

.

are you a patent lawyer for CS? Everything you say is true on close inspection and would certainly keep CS out of trouble, but visually to me the straight thick tanto, straight handle, and split-scale metal/composite handle design scream CQC5/CQC6. I'm not calling "knockoff", but it certainly seems like an "inspired" design. Just my opinion, I guess.

This may be his best collection of new knives and gear yet, but we have to see prices and quality to be sure.
Prices (MSRP) were found on this link:

http://www.neverunarmed.com/Sugg_Retail_05.pdf
6" Ti-lite $84.99
black sable $399.99
black talon $324.99
caledonian edge $349.99
hatamoto $324.99
the spectre $299.99

BTW, the "plastic" knives are no longer zytel. They are now "grivory with KRATON grip"
FGX CAT tanto $14.99
FGX Boot Blade I $14.99
FGX SKEAN DHU $11.99

Look up the rest yourselves.
And remember boys and girls, CS prices are always lower on the internet!

Edit to add: I missed one; the delta dart is the only one left in zytel.

New TiLite -- a giant liner lock. Yeah, that's a good idea. <Where's that dang roll-eyes thingie?!>

Is that really so different than a 6" frame lock with a seemingly chunkier blade? If the lock is as good as the one on the smaller Ti-lite that's fine with me.

Anybody give any thought to the fact that it was Cold Steel, not Emerson, that popularized the tanto blade in the U.S.? That was way back in the 1980's. A little slack, please.

is it just me, or is CS clearly smoking their "proof" videos? Those prices are absurd! Why not just buy a custom?

For those non-metallic knives, "Grivory" is better known as GV-6H as used in the Camillus Becker handles - much harder and tougher than zytel.... worth investigating...

hmm those plastic ones look kinda cool, though can they cut? and yeah the prices on those new folders are just plain queer.

Does cold steel knives make knives that are on par with Kabar and Ontario knives. I like a lot of there models and the steel is carbon v and i don't know anything about the steel or the company and was wondering what to expect from there knives before i drop 50 bucks on there survival knivfe. Thanks
