looks like they've changed anying that was carbon v to sk-5, and came up with some cheap stainless fixed blade beaters out of 4116 krupp stainless whatever that is. Moteng lists more and I'm hopeing cause they list the warhead coming as back.

Some of that stuff looks really cool, darn, more "to get" stuff on the list, of course if the steel is any good. What is Krupp 4116 like? It sounds German.

It appears that Cold Steel is slowly replacing all of their decent quality lower-priced items with either complete junk or over-priced stuff with quality that just doesn’t add up. I have purchased from Cold Steel in the past, but I doubt I will find much to buy from them in the future. Oh well! ;)

I had a feeling the Kudu would be a Okapi-styled knife. Good price, anyhow.

Usual Cold Steel hype...

That Canadian belt knife sure looks like a copy of the Grohmann designs -- or are the Grohmann knives made from a traditional folk knife design? At $17 each, they might double as tent stakes :D

I will see if they hold up to my carbon v's
The Natchez bowie looks pretty cool.
Wish they would make it with a satin finish again. I'm really reluctant to ruin mine :foot: Otherwise I'd do a comparison as well.

Their san mai stuff looks pretty interesting, but I find it all to be a little pricey :(

I'm a bit disappointed they didn't show the machetes listed on Moteng. Those sound interesting.

Interesting. SK-5 appears to be something like 1080, a simple spring steel. Can anyone offer more information? How does it compare to Carbon V (which I love, incidentally -- great steel)? What's Krupp 4116? Krupp has been making steel a long time; I believe Roselli uses Krupp high carbon steel in its every-day blades, but I can't find much on Krupp's stainless grades.

I"m not in love w/ any of it, and I'm a pretty big fan of Cold Steel. The new handle/finish on the AK47 looks nice, but I think I'd rather have the Aluminum handles - just personal preference.

Here we go again with another mysterious steel from CS.... Like everybody else I'm wondering what the heck 4116 Krupp SS is.

I am not impressed Cold Steel used to have blades that were a value and now they have a weird mix of cheap krupp and overhyped way to expensive knives.
The Natches bowie is not bad for between 100 and 150$ but at 600$US it is a joke. You could get a FBM or a custom bowie for that price.
I love my carbonV tru flight thrower it is a great knife at twice but they don't have any good deals like that other than the bushman unless this krupp turns out to be exellent.

OK I found the info we wanted.

Perhaps someone more qualified than I can weigh in on
what exactly these numbers mean in terms of the steel's
characteristics.

Most of what i could find on the 4116 Krupp SS is that is is China made and cheap. Other than that i am not to sure.
