To the citizens of the Porch,
The snow has started to fall here (not sticking around yet, though), and it’s time to try to warm people’s hearts. I will attempt to do just that with a GAW of one of my squeeze sheaths.

There are a couple requirements…

Must have a paid membership on BF, been here 6 months, and be a regular poster in the traditional section. Let’s say 55 posts or more.

I will draw a name from a hat (literally), and that is that. Haha. I don’t do the internet thingy very well.

Please post an “I’m in.” AND…

Most importantly, you must post a photo with a knife that holds special meaning to you, whether it is one that someone gifted you, or a long sought after find, or whatever may be the case. A short or long explanation would be awesome, but not necessary.

I’m going to let this run for a whole week, I don’t want anyone to miss out on an opportunity.

This giveaway is open to USA and Canadian members. (Sorry international folks. 😕 ) I may do a GAW for International folks at a later date. :)

On to the sheath…

This is a veg tanned, Mahogany dyed, squeeze sheath. It is a generic size so a number of GEC’s will fit in it. It has my symbol onlayed, and two different colors of thread. I do not dye the inside of my sheaths, to protect the knife from dye.

Good luck to all!! I love GAW’s!!! Long live the spirit of the Porch!!

Great sheath! I’ll take the #1 slot!

I am fortunate to own a number of knives that belonged to both of my grandfathers, but this is the one that I have the most memories of; like my grandfather cleaning his nails, and then, immediately after, cutting us up an apple.

I was ecstatic when my dad told me to take it.

Thank you for the generosity! Looking forward to what you’ve got coming up!

Well, I'm still a Porch rookie so I'll pass on entering this time. However, what I can offer is a testament to the quality of the main prize, great little sheaths, have one with me today.

Great GAW  :)

I've got one of your slips coming my way for which I am very excited about so I'll play for Un-Chained Un-Chained

Here is a pic of one of my very most treasured knives.
I was relatively new to the forums back then and did not qualify for one yet.
I was graciously contacted by one of the mods in a pm and offered a waiver to buy one for which I am most grateful for.

I'll soon fix that!
I'm in. Very generous GAW of a very cool sheath.
[edited to remove the "bought myself", which pertains to a different knife that I put here first and moved elsewhere]

Mom and Dad bought me this Vic SAK in 1967, before anyone I knew had ever heard of such a thing.

What a cool slip! I’d love a shot.

These two knives mean a ton to me. The 92 was my first GEC, given to me by my father-in-law. It will always have a permanent spot in my knife drawer and reminds me of him when I carry it.

The Barlow is a Father’s Day gift from my kids two years ago. I end up carrying it when I am praying or thinking of one of them during the day for a specific reason. Also a life long keeper.

Thanks for the generosity my man!!

I'm in.

This knife takes me back to my first date with my wife. She asked me to accompany her and her three kids to Great America in Santa Clara in 1984. On the long drive home (we were living in Stockton at the time) I drove. She was tired and laid down across the front seat, which you could do on the bench seat of her 1971 Plymouth Duster, and rested her head on my leg. She immediate encountered this knife, which was in my RFP, and was surprised that I carried a knife. The rest is history - we were married seven months later in January 1985.

I’m in and Thank you for the fun and chance )
I have a few knives with special meaning but for some reason this 2021 Bladeforum Knife has taken my heart. Not only the knife but what it represents and that’s a love for knives with genuine folks on such a great forum .
