Cold weather gear

Yeah, thick wool sweaters are very warm if you're doing any work and not in an open area. I'd agree with the light to medium sweaters in most winter temps, they just breathe a lot better while being good and warm when taking a break.

The Arc'Teryx Delta LT is the best thing I've ever bought. It weighs next to nothing and can be used as a base layer or mid layer.

I've used it layered with a Columbia Ascender Soft Shell in 30 degree rainy weather and standalone in 50 degree weather.

I better be patient then. I thought $98 was a good deal.

I paid full price ($98) for mine, but I've yet to pay over $100 for anything from Arc'Teryx. I'm wearing my Covert Hoody right now (retails for $200), that I paid $100 for. There are a few sites that carry Arc'Teryx gear at discount. Don't let the prices scare you, the gear is worth every penny. The only people that I know of, that say it's too expensive, are people that don't own anything to know how good it is.

There is one popular outdoor gear site that has 30-40% discounts, but they didn't work on Arc'Teryx the last time I tried. The site told me Arc'Teryx requested coupons not be valid on their merchandise.
