Those of you who live where it gets cold, what kind of grease do you use in your power hammers.
I like to make damascus when it is cold, but the cold causes the grease in my power hammer to thicken and makes it hard for the motor to run.
I use Shell Heavy duty grease down to 10F. Its a tough start at that temperature but if you "idle" your hammer for a minute or two it works fine for forging. Personally I don't like using my power hammer below 20F though because cast iron becomes brittle as it gets colder.
