Thinking about working this beast into the rotation. The Meaner is there most days but the Smith would be new to the line up.

Actually probably won't ever really carry it but I think she is SUPER COOL so I thought I would share with my friends. Let's see your carry pieces.

As you were,
Garth

I am picking up an HK USP .45 full size next week, got an iwb holster for it already ordered. Should conceal decently during the winter months... I hope. My Sig p238 rides with me for now.

I love the HK USP. Carry a USP Compact 45 most everywhere I go. That Sig looks pretty nice though as well. Would like to see the IWB holster when you get it.

Garth

For me, that means the Sig 228 gets moved into the rotation more.

The Smith is a hoss!!

Good, it's good to hear that other people carry USP's, I'm glad I won't be the only one. The holster is a Comp-tac minotaur holster, lots of adjustments... Nice Smith and Wesson, I bet it's a handful.

If you ever want to trade Garth, that 500 is Dave Brown size

This what I carry all the time.

I have no say in it, G27 or 22 depending on the need for concealment. I am sure you have all seen a pic of both before however... :) The spare magazine is always a M22 however.

I love my FiveSeven. I also picked up a PS90 that has been fantastic.

I was just about to ask who made your holsters but then I realized that you know someone who does kydex :)

I need to get me a little somethin'.. Any suggestions?
are you familiar with revolvers or autos ?? Everyone will have an opinion on what is needed but one of your first considerations should be is it something that you WILL carry ? I like 1911s (always had a thing for antiques ;) ) but the reality is that even if I could I would not be able to take it with me all the time. A J Frame S&W or G26/27 I can/would. For some the go everywhere gun may be smaller again. THE SINGULARLY most important thing is not the gun but learning to use what you have.

No...if by "little something" you WERE NOT referring to a firearm....well.....then...ummm.....:D

LMAO firearm for sure, at least for right now anyway! :p I am familiar with both revolvers and autos. I really really like autos but I know that it is probably better for me to get a revolver.

I used to carry an HK P7M8 before I had to sell, it went well with everything, was super accurate big enough to be comfortable and small enough to conceal with shorts and a T, safer design than many others... Great choice if you can find one you can afford, i really MISS mine A LOT! Lot's of other good choices out there, though, best advice: Try out as many as you can and get what you will use and feel comfortable with. A .500 S&W will stop anything on the planet but if it's too much for you to carry, or you are afraid to shoot it, what good is it? Then make sure you train. Take a class and make sure you practice. It doesn't matter how much a a super soldier you might think you are, if you don't practice and can't hit the broadside of a barn then... I'm just saying...
David, awesome twins! Garth, sweet hand cannon!

I carry a Sig P239 in 357 sig or my Kimber 45 ultra tactical, both about the same size with a Kramer horsehide holster, it fits them both.

Well, if you like revolvers... take a look at an S&W Model 10/13/64/65 (10 and 64 and .38Spec and 13/65 .357M, all are essentially the same size). One of these with a three inch barrel and round butt (about the only time you can say "round butt" to a woman and not get a slap in the chops) makes for a manageable and usable carry gun. I know that a number of ex-Victorian Police model 10s landed back in the US mid year, they were snapped up but are around. Three inch barrels are less common than 4 but make for a much more balances revolver IMHO... :) The K Frame S&W is really about fool proof (I carried a 3inch model 10 for many years) and they are generally better shooters than most users. They have enough weight (over a 5 shot J Frame) to make them comfortable to shoot with .38 +P which will (all calibre arguments aside) get the business done if you so need.

Thank you for all of your suggestions! :thumbup:I will keep a look out for those. I'm definitely going to get something soon, so this really helps! If anyone has any other suggestions, please post them! I'll take all the opinions I can get :D

Depends on what you like to shoot.

My tip is always shoot a bunch first before laying out the money.

My wife has no problems shooting my full sized Glock .40. She can shoot my snubbie .357 but does not really like it. She demanded to shoot it with some full house 158 grain loads, and has not liked it since.

She prefers auto's, as long as she can rack the slide (some compacts are difficult to rack).

I just made a pocket holster for a Kahr 9mm that I think would be a great carry piece. A lot of guys recommend a .357 snub revolver, because you don't have to rack the slide, but the triggers also tend to be harder to manage. Try shooting one and see if you like them. I always recommend buying the .357, because you can use 38 special or .357. Gives for a lot of versatility. You can get light, or super light guns, or go steel for a weightier piece.

S&W M442 Airweight 38 +P buy some Winchester PDX1s and you will be good, remember practice, practice, practice, the gun needs to be second nature to you. Just my suggestion Pokey!
