Just saw these knives wanted to collect some thoughts on how'd they'd fair as camp/survival knives what is vg1 stainless steel how does it rate in terms of toughness corrosion resistance and edge retention also any inf on thickness of the blade would be helpfull any thoughts would be appreciated thanks.

I asked Cold Steel in an email and they never wrote me back.

As far as I've been able to learn about it, VG1 steel is a copy of the Scandanavian laminated steel that companies like Fallkniven use. The center is VG10, a high carbon stainless, that's maybe 1.0% carbon, and the outer layers are a low carbon 420J2 like you would normally find on a dive knife. It probably cuts and stays sharp like a $10 Mora or a $100 Fallkniven.
