Collapse of the Honey Bee population

Where I live there is more Ag per square mile than one could believe. I see bee's all the time.

I hope the little guys stick around because we'd be eating soylent green/or die starving without them !!

I've seen plenty of small bumble bees, but noticed that the shrubs out front where there used to be hundreds of honey bees has had nothing going on so far. It might just be the wrong time of the season, but it's strange that with all of the clover out back I have only seen the bumble bees. I am out in a pretty rural area.

When I went down to my brother's house in Newport News, VA I saw plenty of them...

I am happy to say I have only had to kill 2 European Hornets so far this year. Normally, they are much more numerous. Maybe there's a 2 year cycle or something going on. After the dry summer last year I don't know what's causing what.

Regards,

Dave

Most bees for California agriculture are brought in to pollenate; then taken to other areas...one of the theories of colony collapse is the frequent movings year after year suddenly causes the collapse...

Some say they found the cause/culprit. What do yo think?

Sounds plausible. Strange that our media have not picked up this angle. They love it when the Europeans have the answer before we do:D

Interesting that Bayer is associated overwhelmingly with aspirin. Looking back to World War I, there's another less appealing story of Bayer, (and BASF), as well as other dye manufacturers in the I.G.Farben conglomerate colluding with German scientists to deliver deadly chlorine gas against the Allies. (Chlorine is a by-product of the dye manufacturing process).

I'd be willing to bet that CCD is due to the Earth's current progressing of its magnetic pole flip. Bee's are very affected by magnetic fields.
The flip has been progressing faster in the last 10 years.

Some areas that were mostly "magnetic north have had a weakening and even localized flips to "south. The same thing is going on all over the planet right now.

This process is way over due and we don't know how long it takes to complete. We do know the magnetic field has been getting weaker for a few hundred years, but I think we are entering a critical phase.

Total collapse of the magnetic field could happen in 100 years or tomorrow, either way the Bee's will will be one of the most affected species. :(
