Collecting Criteria/Metrics

One handed (mostly) opening knives with different locks and mechanics are what floats my boat. This has resulted in a small collection that is mostly Spyderco and G&G Hawk designs. Generally, the weirder, the better. Buy what brings you joy.

Interesting, since your focus leaks into collection pieces, what is your take on the new hybrids of "modern traditionals"?

Would they rest in collection pieces, or your EDC category?

Take my Peña for example, where would this sit for you?

I know it's slightly off-topic but could you imagine how nice that would look with one of Gustavo Cecchini's hidden flipper tabs on it? That would be perfection.

I certainly have my preferences and they generally fall within a very short range of blade length between knives. Occasionally I'll step away from this, but not typically as I know I am unlikely to use the knife. I buy what I use even though I have many that I have not used. I don't collect knives per se. But I have purchased a couple slip joints that I likely will never use purposely due to cost and handle/scales material.
