I'm sure most people have more than one model of a Buck knife in their collection; but I would guess that a lot of people have one model or type that is of particular interest. Maybe knives with gold-etched blades are a major part of a collection, or 102s with different handle materials, or BCCI club knives. There are all sorts of possibilities.

Since it might be interesting to see what people collect and why, I would like to do a survey. Just say what is your special interest and why. Try not to say, "Everything" or, "Because I like it." Try to limit it to one model or type.
I'll start it off.

WHAT: 110s that are Two Dot or earlier
WHY: They show the major developments that made the 110 a classic.

Buck SO/LE knives

I'm drawn to them like a moth to a flame:rolleyes:

112's mainly with 110's secondary

the ingenius simplicity and strength of this design fascinates me.

Bert, Good thinking. My collection and subsequent display is comprised of early factory models from 1963-83. This is when Buck really got going, sold stock, moved their facility several times and most models were of 440C steel. Much of the work was done by hand and Al and Chuck were at the helm. DM

Mostly 110's because I like them. Doesn't matter if they are LE, custom shop, regular production, etc., though I do tend to like the silver bolsters the most.

I started buying a lot of 110s, but I've sold all but two. I now focus on fixed blades. Have one of most models with micarta for use. Collect other variations as my funds permit.
Will post my users/carries on tomorrows SPS.

Started collecting 300 series knives and got a bit burned out, after 200 or so, then began collecting 100 series fixed blade knives. I have narrowed it down to pre factory knives and factory production 102s, 3s, 19s, and 21s 1961-1985. and all filet knives.

jb....we hadn't noticed. ;)

I am another 110 collector. My focus is on three dots and older....and newer 110's with stag or ram's horn scales.

I buy and use other Buck knives...and really like most, but always have an excitement when I hold or use a 110 Folding Hunter.
I know some here on the forums like the drop point blade, but I really like the clip point blade and I like it on the older two liners best. :)

I have a couple 2 dot 112s in the box that they came in, but I am really trying to collect the 440c fixed blades with the black handles.

The 300 series Bucks, because I absolutely love Slant Bolstered knives.

Can not decide 110 or 112 changes daily favor older to keep and newer to play, change. Dave

I am a bit even with both the 110's and the Large Vantages. I love both models because of all the variations that can be seen throughout the line up of the models.(Different steels, handle materials, and colors)

I'm a traditionalist, pre-64 Winchesters, Belgian Brownings, Three-screw Rugers, hunt in Duxbak and Filson gear, etc. I collect Buck Knives from the 1970's up to the mid 1980's, mostly 100 and 300 series knives.

I bought my first Bucks in the late 60's when I used them (a 110 and a 119) daily.

I am still partial to the older knives with 440C steel.

13 out of the last 18 posts say they collect 110s and/or 112s. Its amazing out of all the knives Buck makes there are so many that collect these to knives.

MB,

I guess I"m not surprised; but when I started this thread I was hoping there would be a lot of variety and explanations for why a certain collection was of interest. Maybe we will hear from someone else.
