Collection complete??

My knife desires seem endless. Some very small part of me envies you, OP.

The rest of me is trying to figure out what knife to get next.

No, get something from Victorinox, the surprising cutting performance, pocket friendly nature, and utility will grow on you. Pretty soon you'll have no problem with slipjoints and will want to venture into traditionals.

Maybe because I'm a little older, or got into the hobby late, or have very little actual use for a bunch of knives... in any case I have found that slipjoint knives are more to my liking, and there's just something about them I like. Maybe pick up a nice Case or Queen or GEC and see if there's something interesting there that you didn't expect to find. Not sure what you use your knives for, but those are plenty useful for me.

I believe the OP is European, Benchmades support there is not as good as it is in the states.
Being European, wouldn't this apply the OPs Spydies and ZTs also? I don't think I understand your point...

I'd chime in here and say that ZTs and Spydies in particular are way more common and easier to come by in Europe; not that it's very hard to get a benchmade but definitely not quite as easy

I am from Austria and warranty is a problem with every knife company here You may have luck to find a solution with the dealer you bought your knife from

But like most said I think I'll give it time and see how things change

Zt and Spyderco keep busting out new designs so maybe one day I'll pull the trigger again

Thanks for your support guys :)

Growing up on a farm in a rural community I always had a pocket knife or two. But over the last few years my interest and money have moved away from firearms towards knives. Since joining this forum (coinciding with a shift interests) I felt I need to rapidly accumulate more and better knives to A: broaden my horizons B: become more informed in my personal tastes and a better understanding quality C: because I kinda felt like I was inadequate until I had a decent pile of knives (or perhaps a pile of decent knives) lying around.
Before joining here I had very little interests in Khukuris but after becoming familiar with HI I'm up to 5 this year, so there can always be something else out there to pique your interests if you keep looking.
I have current plans to buy one more production folder at the first of the year and commission a couple of custom fixed blades over the next 5 years. All the while continuing to forge a few more blades as my newest hobby evolves.

You need a Benchmade Axis lock to add to your collection. By what experience are you saying Benchmade has bad QC? I've found it to be largely internet hype with a small group of squeaky wheels propagating something that's largely false. Which Benchmades have failed you on out-of-box quality?

Possible QC issues aside, it's hard to dispute Benchmade offering some of the best service and support in the industry. Until you've enjoyed the wonder that is the Axis lock, you haven't experienced how foldy a folding knife can be! :D

Oh, and go ahead and use those knives and enjoy them!

It's just a case of it being repeated enough that people actually think it's true across the board. The only problem I've had from a Benchmade is my Ritter not coming as sharp as I'd prefer. I'm batting .500 on the Spydercos I bought for QC issues but I'm not repeating that every day on the forum in every thread I can find. I have no reason or desire to put down the entire company because I received a few bad apples. The only change I made is since my last messed up Spyderco I request the store I purchase a knife from to check the knife for issues prior to mailing it. Problem solved.

Nothing wrong with being satisfied with what you have, and you have a fine group. I'm very satisfied with the small group that I carry.

Like you, I find the quality of certain knives in the $300 and less catagory keeps me from seeking out more expensive blades. PM2, GBs, and Slysz Bowie to name a few.

For your next knife. I see a Mnandi in your future. You've got everything else covered.

I'm still curious to hear about your bad QC experiences with Benchmade...

surprised to hear the comment about Benchmade QC. I have several Benchmade knives and have never had a problem- Top Quality IMHO. I think Benchmade, ZT and some Spderco's are top tier knives.

I'm gonna piggyback on this and recommend the 810 Contego. Every collection could use a tough, sturdy user, and M4 still fits the bill, as does the Contego's design.

Like i said in my original Post. I have not handled a Lot of knives in Person i just got flooded with bad Storys about BM qc. Maybe i rly have to try one out. The 940 cought my eye since the beginning...

Is the axislock considered a sturdy locker maybe compared to a frage lock? I also heard alot bout failing omega springs heheh :) but now u kinda woke my interest in BM again. Contego is also pretty nice but there Starts the whole story again. I think pm2 is the bester harder use kniff for less money...
