Refined; adjective - elegant and cultured in appearance, manner, or taste. synonyms: cultivated, cultured, polished, stylish, elegant; antonyms: coarse

As someone trained as a machinist I'm here to tell you that a matte finish is not as refined as one that is mirror polished. Likewise the use of bareheaded screws are less refined than are flush pins. As are slab scales in place of bolsters and fitted scales. They are a sign of easier (read less expensive) machine work and less precision. I'm not saying the Lionsteel knives are not good, but their level of finish does not appeal to me. And when I look at the prices, I cannot see any justification.

To me this is a more refined knife:

What I like about that beautiful traditional knife is its beauty, refinement and traditional construction!! Thanks Eisman!! The Lionsteels are modern knives - in their own beauty!!

Definitely modern traditional as they come. I like both styles did different reasons. They lack some of the warmth and personality of a "true" traditional, but they excel in other areas for sure. Both have their beauty and they all beat a completely modern knife in tbe personality department.

This is sad to report, but I changed it back to CF. I dunno, the white just didn't fit it and the CF just didn't do it on the shuffler.

Oh my, I think I may need to pick one of these up. These are are looking fantastic!

I'm thinking the natural micarta, that's generally my favorite. Might have to switch it up though. That olive wood is looking pretty good too.

Not a great backdrop. But been using the snot out of it. Working overtime alot last week to cover a dude who's mom died and it's been rough. Used it to open some bags of soda ash one day. Profiled and sharpened it that. Next day I dinged the end of the wharncliff using it as a screwdriver trying to prevent a big ole mess at work (I know, but it's all I had and things was going south quick). Was just a little brass calibration screw. The sharpmaker touched it up nice and right. All in all, I'm pretty impressed with it.

Back in November 2018 I made a "Warhorse" by blending a Shuffler with a Dom. While it was a fun project, definitively the factory version is a lot more economical :)

You and I msgd quite a bit. I had bought a dom with the intentions of doing this also. I even have the pins all to do it. Still thinking about it lol. I decided to wait when I learned of the warhorse. But I'm thinking about doing it again as I will never carry the dom alone.

Yes, I do remember our conversations about this conversion. I certainly had fun doing the conversion. Let m,e know when you decide to do it and I'll share what I remember.

Man, seeing all these rams horn Warhorses makes me want one. Ive got this rams horn Dom that i carried for quiet a few months and I'm missing it now as its 30 miles away at the moment. Hopefully more Warhorse pics will filter in, love seeing the rams horn!View attachment 1193530
Man that is gorgeous... if you ever have a momentary lapse of sanity and consider moving that along, I'm your guy!
