Collector Mule Team #1 Shows Up!

Great news! Not sure why the Spyderco collector knives take so long to arrive sometimes, but my Mule #1, Tenacious, Saver Salt, and Caspian Salt all arrived yesterday.

I had virtually given up on receiving my numbered Mule #1, given the length of time it's been out there, but I'm glad to have it. Tenacious is a tremendous value for the money (the full SE vs the partial SE is great!). The FB Caspian Salt along with the special sheath and H1 makes it sort of unique in the Spyderco world. It's a keeper. Very very nice. :)

I may be wrong, but I think Spyderco only has 1 engraver, so when they have a few large jobs on the go (engraving knives for millitary units etc.) things do take awhile.
 
Yes, the CC knives have been way behind, but in your case there might also be an issue with your dealer, Razz. Got my Mule and Saver Salts from NGK over two months ago and my Tenacious a week ago today.

Yep .. , Deacon that's what I've sort of been thinking. Since I've encountered multiple repeats of late deliveries of my Spydie collector knives, I've considered moving my collector number to NGK. NGK would likely have to charge me Virginia tax though given I'm in the state. :rolleyes:

So the question becomes "Is it worth paying Virginia sales tax to avoid a two-month delay in getting my CC knives?"

Unless that sales tax is over 15%, it sounds like a no-brainer to me. I hate waiting.
