Does anyone else have or know of any other collection sites for customs? I have seen a few fototime pages, so thats a start. Can you guys post any that you may know of or have? I'd love to check them out.

List em..

I know Stephen Foster has one but I think it's best as he gives the url himself.

I have done a bit on fototime but that's not really professional. I checked out yours and it looks great. I wouldn't mind having something like that for myself. But I have no idea how to start.

Mine is a photo site rather than a full blown website. I have seriously considered a custom website and may eventually go to one but for the $30 a year the fototime site cost me and considering how I can customize it to suit my needs it's hard for me to justify the additional expense and up keep of a custom website. I get 25-30 visitors to my site a day from all over and have found it to be my most successful method for selling knives as I adjust my collection.

I wish more collectors would open up their collections to the world as the exposure benefits us all, however I'm aware of the reasons why some are hesitant to do so.

Like Kevin, I keep up a Fototime site. It gets an amazing amount of visits and generates interest in some of my knifemaker friends.

Because of last month's Blade Show thread, and the shear amount of historically posted images I have also on my Fototime account, I had to up my storage to 8gb. I only use up less than 2gb, but the bandwidth for my allocation (4gb) was over 20gb last month. (Fototime allows for five times the storage for bandwidth.)

Seriously worth every penny. All that said, all the images from current work and past shows are on my website. They do not get posted to the forums from there. Fototime is a fantastic value for this regard.

Good post, Jon. I need to upgrade my personal folders of my own collection. I DO own quite a few myself. :)

Jon,

You have a great website, but like Kevin and Win. I have my knives on a FotoTime. It is cheap and easy to set up.

I have been a collector of Tru Balance throwing knives for years and have decided to thin out my collection. I have some rare pieces and wanted to shoot pics of the collection for historical purposes before I sell off the knives.

I also have a page on my site for Cripple Creek Knives.

When I get all my pics and memorabilia together, I will organize it better.

How does your e-mail address connect one to your fototime site.
Unless the e-mail is used to request your fototime link.
Yes. I went to FT home page and entered his email. Got to take a look. Nice set of autos!

I have never done it this way, and it's the first I've seen ads on Fototime. Unless you deliver a private link, SOMEONE is going to pay. :D

Unfortunately my web guy has been too busy to update and I have 5 or so new knives that are not on the site. Regarding starting a site, I think you would just need to hire someone to build it and set it up for you. From there you would pay the fee each month for hosting and a small fee to keep a domain name. Fototime is a good way to keep a free site (unless you need alot of space).

Peter Gill has one that worth a look (mentioning it cause hes not on here much lately)

Then there is Kevin Jones, Jim Tracy and Coops, and I don't know of others..

Time to learn how to do it on your own. I am sure it's not hard for a college kid. :)

Jon,

I know that Buddy Thomason also has a nice Fototime site. I'll let him post the link when he gets a chance.

Your right! I forgot about his, but I do check it regularly.

I'd encourage everyone whos willing to share to make a fototime site. Its nice to see knives and to show off knives. Thats what collecting is about.
