Collector Websites

Anton, is that Walther a custom made gun? I don't know a whole lot about guns but thats a nice one.

that Peter Gill fellow... wow! What a great collection of knives!
That Peck award Wheeler is just beautiful.
Great thread:thumbup::cool:

I know Stephen Foster has one but I think it's best as he gives the url himself.

I have done a bit on fototime but that's not really professional. I checked out yours and it looks great. I wouldn't mind having something like that for myself. But I have no idea how to start.

Marcel
I have seen you fototime site and i think it is really well done. But as nice as your knives are the SCALE matrial is unreal! WELL DONE SIR!

Kevin -- can you explain how you see how many people visit your site? Is this something that has to be setup with FT? I don't recall seeing that feature but then again, I guess no one visits my Fototime site which has been up for many years. Not only does the site have knives but much of our travel images too. one day I have to re read FT instructions on how to reorganize the site as they don't have a simple way to handle things. Then again, I don't often adjust things and tend to forget what I might have done a long while back.

Hmm, just checked and found that the sig file is to an old site which is strange as I thought I'd updated before. Now I have to figure out how to change the sig file.

opps something is not right as the link did not work for my sig file. will have to try something else.

not what I wanted but seems to be the only thing that works unless someone has an idea as to how to make a name into the link which I thought I had figured out but does not seem so. Probably something simple I'm missing as usual.

Hi Murray.
After logging into your welcome/home page, go to "Tools" ; "Admin Options" ; "Account Status" ; then finally "Album Activity".

The Album Activity page will give you total site visits and even break it down to visits per individual album.
I really like the fototime program. Cheap and easy to update.

Yes. I went to FT home page and entered his email. Got to take a look. Nice set of autos!

I have never done it this way, and it's the first I've seen ads on Fototime. Unless you deliver a private link, SOMEONE is going to pay. :D

Coop

Thanks Jim. I wasn't aware you could enter that way.

[Hey Stuart,

That Lonnie Williams used to be mine! :D

LOL. I sometimes think that at the knife shows one day we will all just take all of our knives and just shift them left to the table next to us. Then at the next show we can do it again, over and over.
It'll save us a lot of effort. :}

Murray,

If you click on Share Pictures and then Create link to pictures you can set up a link with your name on it.

Jim

Fototime and other photo sites like it have a lot to offer if you really get into it.

Exposure of your collections via search engines for example, if you see that as a positive.

Jim -- looked for what you mention but did not see anything. I note that Kevin is using same as myself as are you but thought I could set up the link to just say My Photos and that would create a hyper link to the website with my images. I had it before to a different site and thought using the same info with a new url would have done it but that did not work. The way it is will be ok but would be nice to know what I did before and why it does not seem to work now. I have to go into my site and create a For Sale page as everything there now is just setup to show the whole collection and then various sub categories of the same knives just so that folk who may not want to look at everything but may want to view some aspects of the knives in the collection.

in an effort to squeeze as much value out of my bladeforum membership as possible, I've used the albums in my profile to catalog my modest, (well, relatively) collection of knives. This is very handy, and also very easy, no need to set up anything special, and the customization options are great for setting up an atmosphere:)

Chuck,

You have a super website, not only great knives but excellent photos.

I visit it frequently to see what's new.
