Collector's Show In Napa CA

Randy,

Did you save any funds for the Reno expo? Got some good stuff. It's all killer, cause it's kiling me getting ready for this show :p

Bailey, could you post pics of what you're bringing over?

Joss,

I only have pictures of one pice so far. It is a model FB2 interframe. The FB stands for folding bowie. One of 5 models I have on this series with the dropped choil.

Anyway, the frame is 240 layer ladder pattern with ivory inlays. The blade is a three bar composite "Explosion" pattern. The knife also have 24k gold vine scroll inlays.

Let me know what you think...

I plan to have a hunting sword, heavily engraved....a smatering of medium and large bowies, a couple of hunters and three or four folders. One of the folders is a new model. Oh yeah, a push dagger as well.

... go to all that helped...

Mitch, with his great photos. Mark and Les - knifelovers both - taking care of our security needs...

Julie, Lori, Mike and Terri who all helped with some of the pre-show efforts and having the finesse of getting the details right...

But most importantly, my deepest thanks go to the incredible group of Knifemaker/Artists who resonated to our vision and came to Napa for this great, new adventure...

And then, Bailey Bradshaw, Kevin Cashen and Bill Ruple who couldn't attend but donated great pieces. Well, what can I say, other than here are individuals of great integrity...

While we provided the tableau, it is the collaborative effort of all involved that laid the foundation for greater things in the future...

I'm honored, humbled and wholly grateful for everyone who contibuted of themselves, their talents and their awesome works to The Inaugural Collectors' Show...

Is it annual? How many makers? Did Matt have his freakkin Wine Knives, or did he do something way cool this year. I swear, it makes me want to crush
Kaj Embretsen's head in a vise when I think about those Wine knives.
You did not report on the show itself.

Did it sell well for you, was it worth going......Having a good time, and being real nice to people is good and all, but was business getting done?

That is the mark of a good show to me, otherwise I can stay in San Diego, and talk to you on the phone for an hour, and save about $400.00 in travel expenses :D .

Best Regards,

;) Hello Steven

Yes I had a good show. I paid for all my bills, I got to eat good food and hang with nice people. I sold all kitchen knives, all 420V and tan micarta and had two pick up orders. I hope the show is annual but I haven't heard anything yet. There were twenty three artists. I didn't see any wine knives on Matt's table and I should have stopped to talk to him. But Bob Weinstock had the coolest wine corkers knife. I should have taken pics of the people. There were a lot of the mighty fine knives. I didn't get around the show like I would have liked to but it sounded like most of them would return. Since it was just the first show we didn’t know what to expect. I will talk to you soon Steven
