colorado camping trip advice

Sunglasses!

Regardless of the temp and the snow, there's a lot of sun in Colorado.

A nice set of glasses really helps - especially when sun kicks off the snow. It's also windy and dry, so the glasses protect your eyes.

YES to all of the above, the carhartt jacket leave home . Cotton kills is correct . Being an old guy from NH, I've done a lot of winter camping and back packing. Another must is a good breathable hat, one that you can wear to bed. It will hold a lot of heat in your body while asleep. The best sleeping bag you can afford. Don' forget your survival kit that everyone has put together here on the forum. Heavy duty Garbage/ leaf bags will keep your feet dry in an emergency. You can all make gaiters out of the top ends. Also can make a waterproof ponco out of one. Also keep an eye on the sky be prepared to move before you get weathered in. Have fun, look around and enjoy. Stay Safe.
