My friend and I went fishing this weekend. We would be backpacking up and down a couple miles of rocky river bank with food, water and fishing gear so I decided to do something different and just bring the BK16. And of course the BK14 was in my pocket like always.

We headed up to the Big Thompson River to chase some trout. Its a beautiful location and you never know which kind of trout will be on your line here. We caught Rainbows, Cut Throats and Browns.

There was a big flood here in 2013 that damaged a lot of land and homes. There are still some abandoned houses around with the search and rescue X markings on them.

Zoomed in on my friend releasing a fish. I was about 60 feet down river.

Looks like there is going to be some nice fatwood in this stump. Going to return with bigger tools. To be continued. ;)

My god man what an awesome beard. Beautiful pics, Beautiful fish and a beautiful blade - what more could we ask for! If that stump is all fatwood youv'e hit the jackpot at least for a while anyways. wouldnt like to be sitting on the porch of that house hanging pecuriously over the edge. Great thread cheers.

Beautiful pictures! thanks for taking us along for the ride!

Durn cannibals. They try to eat their own! Nice pics.

Love Colorado - glad you had a great trip, Mauser. Can't wait to hear how much fatwood you harvest from that stump!

Ah, man. I miss those days (not that I ever went ANY place nearly that gorgeous). Thanks for the stunning photos, Maus. Tell your beard I said hello ;). Mine's at it's summer length - though even at it's winter best, it wouldn't ever rival yours.

Those are some great looking 'bows Maus; thanks for sharing! Reminds me I need to hit the streams one of these days. [emoji106]

Those pictures are really nice........ Beautimous, even..... That must have been one serious effing flood.... Is it the one that swept away a bunch of campers up above Boulder?..........

Thank you Sir..... Quite a treat.....
