Has anyone ever tried to add permanent color to the whitish/gray laser markings on anodized aluminum? I am trying to add color detail to a piece I am working on but do not want to mask an area and re-anodize. Is there a dye that could be used?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

If you do it on titanium, you can get a range of colors, two-tone / multicolor effects ... you name it ... just in how the mark is done.
(Sorry I can't help much with aluminum.)

Thanks for the input guys. Titanium is definetely on my list of materials to work with, but first, I must start with aluminum; the economy material:)

I'll keep my eyes and ears open for various aluminum techniques that may be out there.

Thank again and I hope to contribute more to this forum in the future.
