Well i have wanted to do a Colt knife for a long time and after seeing The mustang knife that was done i thought why not. it is a bit diffrent but just think of how cool the sheat will be :rolleyes:. First off let me say that the Colt single action is probabley by far my favort gun so its no suprize that its modeled after it. here is a sketch i have done to kinda show you what i'm thinking about. and the cool thing is that it will take standard colt grips :D. let me pop it into 3D for you so that you can get a better idea of how it will look. it was drawn in solid works so its easy to do. I think it will be sweet. I have gone through a lot of designes and this is the one i'm most happy with.

That is pretty cool JT. I guarantee that it wont jam :)
When I first saw it I thought you were going to use an actual junk revolver and modify it. I guess you are going to make it full tang from one piece?

Yep it si all one chunk of steel evcept the guard which will be somthing like nickle or maybe brass. It will have the screws and everything. plus the colt logo will be Cut out with a Wire EDM all the way through. It will be sick. o the sheat, mmm the sheath :D
 
Heck if someone can make that RAD ALL STAINLESS KNIFE MAKERS GRINDER they can make a cut-n-shoot. You have all the skills you just need to apply them. Go for it man. Just take your time and it will be really cool.
 
I agree with everyone else. You, of all folks, can do it. We've seen your machining skills. They rock!
 
If you are going to make a gun/knife you have to make it from your heart not a colt with a blade on it. Dig deep man.
