Howdy folks,
My grandfather bought a 1911 in the late forties for home protection, but he heard somewhere that autos are less reliable than revolvers, so he traded it in for this gun. (
I wish he'd kept the 1911...) I think he only shot half a box of ammo through it in all the years since. I bought it from him several years ago. I've enjoyed it, but you can't keep stuff forever, and you sure can't take it with you, so I'm selling it.
It's a Colt 1917 double action .45 ACP revolver.
A quick Google search will get you the history of this particular model, so I won't get into that here.
There is some rust and scratches on it, which you can see in the pics. I'm sure this is the original finish, but I couldn't guarantee it.
Price is $950. That includes the holster and a bunch of half and full moon clips. I could even throw in a cleaning kit, which I won't need anymore.
Shipping is extra ($25), and of course I'll be sending it through an FFL.
I can take check or money order. Please allow 10 days for the check to clear.
