With the help of this forum I bought my wife a CRTK M16-30. I must say I am disappointed. Mostly because it isn't my knife.

I'd like to find one similar with a bigger handle/blade for an every day carrier. My problem is I can't find any pics to see what, or stats to know what is what. I buy from discount knifes, but you need to know what you want before you order. Anyone have a link for CRKT that might help me?

Go to the top of this page and click on "STORE". 1SKS has specs, pics & descriptions for most everything they sell, which is, well most everything you'd want (production makers).

If you like the M16, they come in 3 sizes, 2 blade shapes, and two handle materials (more?). CRKT is my favorite brand of late. For a real CRKT deal, check out the Mirage series on closeout at www.eknifeworks.com.

Picky-picky -- I know.

Surely, Kendall that is a typo, M16-30 and should be 03? And, RH, three handle materials?

One suggestion -- try the larger LUS, see if your wife might nog glom onto that and leave the M16 to you? If not, the medium/small Mirage might do the trick. RH is right. $10 for a Mirage is the best deal out there.

Another - almost forgot. IMO, the M16s with the flippers are far and away the best. Just re-lubricated my M16-14. Can again easily flip blade open with knife held w/flipper on top, blade beneath. (Of course, have stronger than usual index finger from lots of practice

) The 04s and 14s -- partially separated -- are the biggest of the M16s, I believe. Unfortunately, they're both tantos.

Happy shopping!

Why don't you buy from someone with better customer service. Discount Knives has very low prices but very little customer support. Try one of the other fine dealers listed in the forums. Mike Payne is my favorite. He can be reached at (901)340-1973

Bugs, I can pick nits with the best of them. I am a world-class nitpicker (just ask my wife & co-workers

). Not to be out picked:

Kendall,
The M16 has more variations than you have pockets to put them in. To whit:

- 3 sizes
- 2 distinct blade shapes (spear & tanto)
- plain edge or part serrated
- black teflon coated or satin
- 3 distinct handle materials & 3 finishes
....- Zytel
....- Carbon Fiber
... - Aluminum
......- black
......- Blue anodized
......- OD Green anodized

In addition, I believe that some models (the older ones, to be sure) are available with or without the "flipper" feature.

Whew! ...and I don't even own one!

All this & more at:

Happy Hunting!

I've sent him close to $200 this month alone. He has done me well in the past, and I see no need to move my business until a need arises. I've had much worse treatment from my short lived switchblade kick. Naming no name **cough cough** Tiny **cough cough**. The way I see it, is for my patiences, I can get a better knife. Just my opinion though, and your comment was well taken.
