THIS KNIFE IS DOUBLE EDGED

It's 14.15/16" overall and weighes 25.5 oz.
The blade is 1095 spring steel 9.15/16" X 1.3/4" X 1/4" thick.
The guard, bolster, and pommel sides are 1018 steel WELDED
to the full tang.
The handle is 4.3/4" long with a one piece high impact tooling
resin grip that is poured onto and through the tang (very strong).
The handmade sheath is 10 oz. leather with black steel rivits
and a black steel snap. It's cemented at the spacer and hand
stitched with doubled waxed nylon saddle stitching thread.

After heat treating, the primary bevel is filed true.
I leave the file mark showing. I like a handmade knife to look
handmade and I want them to see hard, heavy use.
When the job at hand may cause you to have concern for damaging
the tool, I WANT my knives to be the ones reached for.
They might not be pretty but they are heavy duty.

SOLD

Thanks for looking,
Mike

Your knives have such an attractive, unique look to them. They have a very hand-made feel about them, and I can only imagine the potential of their function.

I love the patina like finish on them, if it's not a trade secret how do you get them to look like that?

After the filing is done the blade gets lightly sanded.
Quenching in used motor oil and wire wheeling off the
burnt slag gives the finish.
