Combat System Fighter available now!

OM,
Nice collection of Emersons. You mentioned that you would like to see a Super CSF. After receiving my CSF, I'm in agreement with you. I like the blade profile of the CSF better than the Roadhouse.

OM, I know you're a Roadhouse kinda guy. How do you feel about the CSF in comparison to the Roadhouse?

Total Win-Win. I think the CSF is pretty much perfection. Until a Super CSF emerges. Just depends on whether or not I'm in a tanto mood.

Yeah, they do. Think of it this way. Those models have low slung blades but still require the thumbramp to be present so the Wave is a little bigger/taller to make up for it IMO.

Ray, what is your overall assessment on this new model? I am finding that the "2+2" finger arrangement (grip's "belly") has become my favorite grip configuration: the Roadhouse, CSF, G-Jim, and 10 have become my favorite models. I still love Commanders, Tigers, 8's and others, but that 2+2 config just does it for me. This CSF feels natural like I've used one all my life.

I'm not all that into this knife at the moment. It's my first of a Roadhouse style handle and I'm not fond of it. I feel my middlefinger squishing into my indexfinger or vice-versa. The way the handle is set with the placement of the pocketclip prohibits me from having a firm grip on the knife (causes part of my palm to squish into the underside of the pocketclip). Hopspots galore for my right handed ways, actually said ouch handling the knife just now thinking about this. The blade could work but I have mentioned the angle in which the blade points a little upwards. Kind of like a PTAC or Hattin in ways killing it for me as a utility knife being that pressure/contact with the edge falls off through my cutting stroke. The Blade simply points upward compared to how I hold my other Emersons. Much to my surprise, this one gets a low rating from me for my needs. If it works for you, Great knife! Just doesn't work for me but I'll keep it just to have one in my collection but glad I didn't purchase a second one since it would have been flipped.

I certainly love the Tiger way more than the CSF. The dragon tail pocket wouldn't help me since part of the issue is the fact that the edge/side of the pocketclip sit close to the edge of the handle. I would require a very narrow/slim profile pocketclip. Perhaps a Benchmade split arrow style without a flared/wide spot. The placement of the clip just doesn't work for me wishing it was drilled and tapped a little higher up the side of the handle moving it towards the top of the handle or even a little more forward towards the center. This is actually the first Emerson I have owned/handled/used where the Ergo's flat out didn't work and hurt in a way. Very surprising for/to me.

Just ordered one in stonewashed blade. I have a custom roadhouse just love that handle, so when I saw the csf I have to have it!
Btw...that black blade looks awesom.

Just got mine in and don't usually care about serial numbers, but I got 0007. Very surprised by that low of a number. I feel the need to get a tiger now to compare, but missed out on that release.

Ordered the stonewashed version over the weekend. This is my first order direct from Emerson. Did you guys receive tracking info when your knives shipped?

^^ Congrats on the purchase! No tracking info sent but you can ask for it. My orders have usually shipped the next day. If I purchase enough to qualify for free shipping, It's been Priority Mail via USPS.
