Where can I find a busse mean street, Is this knife to big for everyday carry?

Check the for sale boards here on BF, there are 2 for sale(last I checked)

Is it too big for EDC, I guess that depends but I've carried one for an EDC and currently carry a larger FB EDC.

I hope this helps.

BTW, I'd use the Busse ;):D:D

Their test included pouring gasoline on the handle and lighting it on fire. As I'm sure you are aware, Kraton will easily burn and melt while Zytel is nearly indestructible. Out of all the knives the guys at Naval Special Warfare tested, our handle survived among the best.

I sure hope none of you try this at home!!!

I'd use the Busse. I only have a couple of the Basic Series (the 5" and 7") and they are easily as good as the Busse fanatics here say they are. And if the regular Infi used on the Mean Street is better than the modified Infi used on the Basics then  ! Use that bad boy Busse.
I don't have either of the other two so I'm not gonna spout about them.:p

I'd go with the Busse as my user. Why? INFI steel for one. Also, I'm of the opinion that the drop pt. profile and flat grind lend to just a better all-around choice than the other two.

I have a CRK Project 1. Excellent large blade. Scaled down to the the smaller size, not as good. Despite it's attributes, it's round metal handle has fallen out of favor with me for aforementioned reasons.

I also have a SealPup. Good knife imo, but I don't really care for the stylized blade profile. No need. The handle I've decided I do not like either. Just kind of a showy little knife. I like the NW Hunter better. Much like a hi-tech small Kabar.

Do I own the Busse? Nope. :D

Thank you all for your help, and insight. The concensus of opinion is weighted heavily in favour of the Busse. So the Busse it will be.

I always thought that this would be my choice, but it's nice to have it confirmed here.

Regards,

Doug

I would go for the Mean Street as the flat grind/point combo is best for utility use and fine for self-defence. As any solider knows, a knife is used 95% of the time for non-combat activities.

The Mean Street is also the lest combat looking.

Of the knives I own, I would pick the following for self-defense:

1. Ontario Bagwell Stealth for a big one.
2. Randall Model 14 - the ultimate fighter. Busses don't have crossguards. The Randall Model 14 has a superb guard.
3. Emerson Mini-Commander for a folder - best ergonomics.
